At Minus 5 we are proud of the high ratio of adults to children, which is 1:6.  This ensures individual attention to the needs and development of each child.  The staff are responsible for providing activities, which cover the EYFS, and for keeping individual records of these achievements.  All but one member of staff are qualified and attend regular training courses.  Each member of staff has an enhanced DBS disclosure, and is committed to providing a fun, caring environment in which children can learn and play. At Minus 5 we are extremely proud of our low staff turnover.

Caroline Venner

Caroline worked at the preschool for 10 years, and after a brief absence she has returned to take over as the Preschool Manager. With two grown up children, both of whom attended the preschool, Caroline is very excited to be returning and has a lot of experience of both working with children and managing staff. Caroline has remained involved with the preschool for the last 6 years as Chair of the Committee.

Shiobon Reed

Shiobon has worked at Minus Five for 12 years. She has 2 children, who both attended the preschool. We are pleased to announce that Shiobon is taking over the role of SENCO

Maria Franklin

Maria has worked at Minus Five for 26 years. She has 4 children and a grandson, who all attended the preschool, when she was a member of the committee. Maria has seen generations of families come through the preschool, and remains as committed and enthusiastic as when she started.

Debbie Swindley

Debbie has 2 children and her oldest child attended the preschool. Debbie has been childminding young children for the past 4 years. Debbie is looking to achieve a level 3 qualification within the next year.

Natalie Meadley

Natalie has three children all of school age and has previously been a childminder, she is returning to the preschool after a brief absence in which she has started up her own children party business.

Gill Parry

Gill has worked at Minus Five for the past 23 years, and was the Manager for the past 11 years. Gill undertakes and processes all the paperwork that is now involved in an early years setting. Gill has 2 children who both attended the preschool, when she was a member of the committee.
